    SUBJECT: O-General – Split A/c || Model-AWG18ABT Complaints – Defective new cooling coil assembly

    We had purchased this 1.5 ton split a/c [Model-AWG18ABT] in August’2008, thorough the dealer Sheetla Aircon. (the dealer is a thorough gentleman, and very helpful indeed, but presently, he is also helpless)

    Since 2009, we have ended up spending almost Rs.18,000 on this a/c, which now seems completely useless!! Hardly 2 months back, we had the cooling coil assembly replaced, and ended up spending Rs.12,000. It’s now come to our knowledge that the new assembly was defective. Today your service engineer Mr.Zohair Ahmed visited our house, and confirmed this fact. He clearly stated that the company has no warranty for even a brand new part being replaced, even if it’s defective. And he advised us to buy a new a/c.

    I would like to ask, if a company as famous as General follows any corporate ethics, should you not replace the 2-month old unit free of charge? How can a service engineer advise us to buy a new one when the already replaced cooling coil assembly is hardly 2 months old?? This is completely unexpected of such a famous company. I would appreciate a reply from your end.

    Moreover, since today morning, I have been trying to talk to your Customer Care manage Mr.Sanjiv Punj [Mobile No.8800898457]. I called him in the morning, and he said he would revert on this issue. I have called him 3 times since then, and he is not answering my phone calls.

    All the more worse is the fact that I have been trying to register my complaint at your website (at the link “Complaint Registration”), and its showing an error message each time I try to submit my complaint.

    I find all this very disgusting. I had a very high opinion about General, and always used to advise all my acquaintances to buy General a/cs, but I would never again commit this mistake.

    I had purchased an O’General 2.0 ton AC from the following distributor. Mayur Electronics, bus stand road Junagadh(gujarat) Ph – 09825385761.After 6 Months neither it is cooling nor there is pressure of air.And They have not given me a single service.And behaving with us rudely.after lots of phone calls & personnely visiting the distributer’s office, nobody is attending .Pls do the needful.

    I bought an O’Genenral AC last year date 19/06/2011 from their authorised dealer US Shoppee in Janak Puri ,after exactly one year , after the services as suggested by them it has now become a desert cooler ( or even worse) ,we have been suffering over a month now , Have called up their after Sales service also but half of time they dont pickup the call and even after the call is answered they act as if they have done us favour in giving us the AC .The service guy who came in for the free service did a dry service first and after calling up again that the AC was not cooling did the wet service.I think the free service was meant to be just a assurance as there was no service done .It is just another gimmick by the company to fool us .

    Now the service center guys have stopped picking calls also and once they have picked up there is no satisfactory answer when the engg. is going to visit .

    I would request this forum to take this matter up very seriously as I would not want any other consumer to get duped buying such as an EXPENSIVE AC and getting a cooler instead .

    They SUCK .

    Want to strongly protest your after sales service in Delhi reason
    1. your official customer care no. 9868143776 and 011-43127722 are perennially grounded.
    2. customer has to remind/ask for the due date of servicing even after paying the annual maintenance .
    3. finally, after locating the helpline numbers through net, the empty headed ladies receiving the complaints are uncouth, rude and sick ….. SUCKS
    Kindly groom your staff to be caring in verbal communication ‘coz it is “customer care” service and not an uncaring service to your loyal customers.


    we had purchased 1.5 mt a.c of o general on dT. 30.05.12 from venus and from the starting day we are not geeting the proper cooling from the machine. we had made several complaint but no one is there to listen it.Please change the machine immedietly our invoice no. is 1080/12-13.

    please look into the matter immedietly.
